Ninja Scroll is a Japanese action thriller anime, set in feudal Japan, by critically acclaimed director/writer Yoshiaki Kawajiri. The movie was released on June 5, 1993 and received a Western release on December 6, 1996.



Summary

Jubei is wandering noble sword for hire but when a chance meeting leads him to save young ninja woman from rape he makes enemies with a group of demonic humans. Jubei and the woman part ways but later a government spy forces Jubei to join up with her again and investigate the mysterious death of an entire village. The investigation reveals a conspiracy involving the demons and a man from Jubei’s past who is supposed to be dead. As they get closer to the truth the demons close in on them and pretty soon Jubei finds himself in a deadly fight with many super strong inhuman opponents.

Jubei Kibagami

ubeii is a self hiring Ninja who roams the side of feudal Japan. He meets up with an old man named Dakuwan (looks like Niccotine from Samuri Showdown). Together, with a female ninja named Kagero, the battle against the evil Shogunate government. Unfortunately for these 3, the government has the 8 devils of Kimon, who prove to be quite lethal adversaries. Jubei is known for his expert sword fighting, and lightning fast body attacks.
Jubei is a very intelligent and calculating person. He has very sharp wits and is very good with a sword and making attack and defense strategies. He's basically the perfectly well rounded warrior. No matter what the odds, Jubei will always fight with all of his heart if it's something he believes in.

Kagero

Kagero is the only female warrior of the Koga Ninja that is sent to investigate the mysterious deaths in Shimota village due to an even more mysterious plague. Her main job is as a "poison taster" for her master's food. It turns out that she is totally immune to poison, due the fact that her blood itself is a deadly poison. Merely touching her could be fatal. Throughout her existance she has been thoroughly abused...


Dakuwan

Dakuwan is a spy for the Tokugawa clan who is opposing Shogun of the dark's Toyatome clan. He is a shrewd and underhanded (although not evil) little man. Underestimating him because of his size would be a major mistake. He, like Jubei, is very clever, but unlike Jubei, is a little sadistic.




Benisato

Benisato's special ability is to control snakes.. and shed her skin like one. At one point her body is covered with living tatoos of snakes that come off and turn into real snakes. She is Gemma's lover and the devil that discovered who Jubei was (after Tessai left an imprint of Jubei's face in his hand). She also has the ability to possess people and cause them to burst open with snakes (i.e. the old lady chanting the sutra in the desserted temple). She is very taunting about her relationship with Gemma to Yurimaru, which is reason for the "tension" between them.

Lord Himuro Gemma

Himuro Gemma is Jubei's main nemesis... but he was even before the Devils of Kimon. It turns out that Gemma had betrayed Jubei and tricked Jubei's own clan into trying to kill him. In turn, Jubei was forced to kill the Yamashiro clan ninjas (in self-defense) and then had to avenge their deaths by killing Gemma... and he did just that. (He decapitated Gemma while he was riding a horse).

However, Gemma can reincarnate himself. When Jubei cut his head off, it reconnected itself to his body.

Mushizo

Mushizo has a very strange ability to control wasps. Not only can he talk to and command them, but he actually has a hive in his back. When Jubei slashes his back open the wasps attack him. Mushizo attacks with a 2 pronged pitch fork type weapon, and has a "throat needle" which he can spit out of his mouth. The only thing is he really shouldn't go near water. He is also the one who reveals to Jubei that Gemma has the ability to regenerate himself (while they are fighting in the mill type building).

Shijima

Shijima has many strange abilities. He can control dead bodies (and live ones too!) like they were puppets, he can travel freely through shadows, and he has the ability to multiply himself into "decoys". Actually, it is the illusion of him multiplying. His main weapon is his mechanical claw which he can throw very fast out of the shadows. He throws it at Dakuwan, and is amazed that he avoided it... all it did was pin his clothes to a tree. A pretty nifty enemy to Jubei, but not all that bright.

Tessai

Tessai is the devil responsible for killing all but three of the Koga ninja team (Yurimaru killed one, Zakuro later kills Hanza, and Kagero survives).

Tessai's special ability is to turn his entire body into stone (well not all of his body...), and he is huge!. He also hurls a gigantic double-edged, double-sided sword which cuts through anything in its path, and acts like a boomerang. It slices, it dices, goes through trees, people, just about anything! Somehow, he almost always catches it...

Tessai also has a very bad temper and hates Jubei. In fact, Tessai was the first devil that Jubei ran into... and he is the one that Jubei must save Kagero from. If Tessai had not made the mistake on the night before of kissing Kagero (who is poisonous to the touch) he probably would have had no problem defeating Jubei when they met the following day.

Utsutsu Mujuro

Mujuro is an amazing swordsman... even though he is blind. He is also apparently very strong, due to the fact that he was supporting Jubei's sword when he and Kagero were scaling a cliff. (He also has very cool hair!) In order to avoid losing to him, Jubei had to eliminate all noise that he was making... one sound and it was all over. He was also amazingly fast and even fought Jubei in a forest, running through the trees! He told Jubei: "your sight is a weakness" when he started flashing his sword in Jubei's line of sight to blind him. He was right. Over all he would have to be my favorite devil, as he fought with honor (he could have easily dropped Jubei and Kagero down the cliff when they didn't even know he was there) and was a great warrior. Without the teamwork of Kagero and Jubei, Mujuru may have won the battle for Gemma.

Yurimaru

Yurimaru is second in command (under Gemma) of the eight devils. He is ruthless, but very non-threatening in his composure. His special ability is that of electrocuting his enemies with energy generated in his body. He uses little wires (resembling Jubei's line attached to his sword) and is very accurate with them. He desires to be Gemma's lover... and is very jealous of Benisato, whom Gemma seems to prefer. Sakuro has fallen in love with him, but he has absolutely no desire for her and treats her lower than dirt.

DIPLO, SKRILLEX, & A-TRAK TEAM WITH ICONICTV TO CREATE YOUTUBE MUSIC NETWORK "POTATO"

Globally acclaimed DJs Diplo, Skrillex, and A-Trak have partnered with IconicTV to create POTATO, a web-based music network on YouTube that aims to bring back the spirit of early music television for the digital and mobile era. Recognizing that there is a parallel between today's YouTube explosion and the early days of cable TV, the trio developed a music outlet that echoes MTV’s initial mission statement: "You'll never look at music the same way again." The channel launches on YouTube in Fenruary the 15th. 2013

Potato’s programming will give voice and vision to the immensely diverse and ever-growing field of music, recognizing that there no longer is a divide between musician and fan.

Potato is a joint venture with management companies TMWRK & Blood Company and IconicTV, which is run by Larry Aidem (former President & CEO of the Sundance Channel) and Michael Hirschorn (CEO of Ish Entertainment and former head of programming for VH1).  The channel's general manager is Hallie Harris, a former music manager and music publishing exec. 2B Continued locates the most interesting fundamental modern music, which has a saying and can be heard more than once. FORECASTER spotted the hottest name in the cloud.

Ilan Halmush AKA Glenn Holmes is 29 years old dj & music lover from Israel. His main styles of electronic music in the last 5 years are deep house sounds with some variations to house music in general, whether it's Chicago or even Soulful, you can also find some nu disco, and disco touches in his mixes.

2. Tell us 2 things that we might not know about you?
1st fact: I'm a freak of numbers. You could call me the quick human calculator.
Maybe that's the reason i did my B.A degree in statistics.

2nd fact: Music is a big part of my life, but it wasn't the situation all the time. until the age of 15 it had nothing to do with me. I got introduced to mtv only at the age of 15, and this fever started catching every part of me. Soon I'm turning 30, completing half life with music. I think i know which half was better for me ;)

3. What are the 3 most important things in your life at the moment?
My fiance - Hagar who I love. I believe she has a big part also in the way my taste in music shaped in the last 2.5 years.

My mother - the only family i know. She is not having a very easy life but i admire her attitude and optimism.

My friends - Thanks to some of them I am a music lover and vinyl fanatic. I might have been at a whole different place without some of them, others have been big part of my own journey in music, and all of them made me do the tough choices. the people and friends around me are the ones that brought me to be what I am today so they come first! i couldn't be where i am if I didn't have the support and love of these people.

4. What do you want to be change in, and 4see (foresee) to the Israeli electronic music industry?
I would love to see more chance given to new talents based on their talent. Locals artists should get a wider stage and the crowd must give them a chance. Also to see the new generation of clubbers and electronic music fans get bigger and more dominate in the scene. this new generation "wings of change" is more than important, this is our essence and asset!

These days dubstep get massive exposure, its kind of trendy and sticky, I believe in the long run it will create important community of electronic music fans who would leave fashion for real music experience.

5. Where were you at 5am last Friday?
Ahh, embarrassing... i was sleeping. This going to be a long week with 4 gigs, plus an invitation to unique party i'm very excited about IU Blog launch party at Deli on this Friday evening with Aybee, of two close friends, Roman Gilman and Guy "Freedom" Rotem who manage Israel Underground community, So i need to get my strengths back and be ready for the coming week.

My newest edition of the facing it series, starts with deep house picks, moves on to the disco flavored materials in house music and then to a pure disco-ish end. This Facing it 13th edition includes a bit more than only music. Also You can find me playing from time to time at Mooki's - Vital 4, Tel Aviv.

Let the music an opportunity to bridge the gaps

ONE BEAT international project opens the registration for musicians from 40 countries around the world. Take part in a unique musical project.

Its the third year of One Beat, The event will take place in fall 2013 at the musical central Florida USA, for two weeks of rehearsals, performances, creating ensembles and improvisation. The project's goal is to bridge the political and social gaps between musicians from different countries, using musical connections.

Out of all the registrant, finally chose 25 representatives, who will take part in the project. Flight costs, travel expenses, accommodation and subsistence will be financed entirely by the organizers of the project.

In the fall of 2013, approximately 25 musicians (ages 19-35) from around the world will come together in the U.S. for four weeks to collaboratively write, produce, and perform original music, and develop ways that music can make a positive impact on our local and global communities.

OneBeat is a musical journey like no other. It is a chance for adventurous musicians from an incredible diversity of traditions to seek common ground, creating new musical combinations, pushing the boundaries of music technology, and finding ways to involve all members of society in the process of musical creativity. OneBeat endeavors to be the nexus of a new way of thinking about how music can connect people from across the world and around the block.

The registrants need to know a basic English, present theirs knowledge of music, activity over several years, send videos and audio that featuring the musical ability.

EDM's Bubble Will Soon Burst

Very soon, EDM will be a victim of its own popularity.

If that sounds like a bold statement, it is. It’s also very realistic.

EDM (yes, EDM, not “dance music” or “electronic”) has undergone a dramatic rise in popularity. In the future, we might credit the Internet’s penchant for rapidly spreading information for the meteoric rise in EDM listeners worldwide. Regardless, this growth is completely unsustainable, and now we have a severely inflated bubble that is bound to pop.

The truly sad part is we are all to blame. Whether purposely or inadvertently, we have created a culture in EDM whereby it is no longer about the music. Our culture is now about fame, stardom and name recognition. The days of a nameless, faceless master of ceremonies taking the decks, reading the crowd and delivering the exact track and set their expert musical diagnosis demands...are over.

Many in the industry are quick to blame the fans. I blame them the least of all.

First and foremost, I blame the agents who create a frenzy of demand only to increase booking prices accordingly. For those that aren’t aware, agents are the people you actually call when you want to hire an artist for a performance. The promoter of the show calls an agent, negotiates a price and date, then (depending on the artist’s exact arrangement) artist management gets involved to plan specifics of the performance. In only the last couple years, booking prices have increased so dramatically it is becoming virtually impossible to do single-performer shows in small markets (like college towns.) The profit margins simply aren’t worth the risk.

This inflation of booking prices is at the heart of EDM’s bubble of unsustainability, because touring now accounts for the vast majority of an artist’s income. Spin recently published an editorial explaining how this focus on touring leads to less studio time. Mixmag followed up with its own feature on ghost-producers, artists who sell music to more popular counterparts who then present it as their own original work. Disappointingly, the magazine stopped short of finding the courage to name names. Finally, The Guardian published an article by the legendary Bill Brewster describing an argument between Calvin Harris and the BBC over comments that appeared to endorse pre-recorded sets. All of these issues are symptoms of the same cause: fans have lost their desire for actual musical talent.

The explanation is simple. As prices increase, fans are less keen on taking risks. For $10, I might be willing to go to a random club and listen to a DJ I read about on a flyer. If I’m spending hundreds of dollars to attend a music festival, I had better be sure the experience will be worth it. For the vast majority of people that don’t have time to properly research and stay up to date on the music, popularity and fame become their benchmarks for judging the worth of any given act.

Fame is truly a funny thing. We use fame and notoriety to find common links with others. As much as some of us might despise Paris Hilton, she serves as a cultural reference point. Humans crave topics of conversation that connect us to each other and diminish the intrinsic qualities that make us feel alone. Famous people are an aspect of our culture that we actively desire.

We used to demand more from our famous musicians. They used to demand more from themselves. When Eric Clapton, the famous guitarist, wrote the song “Tears in Heaven,” his four-year-old son had fallen out of a 53^rd-story window to his death. He took that passion, emotion, and heartbreak and poured it into song. Every time he played that song, he reopened an old wound and shared that feeling with his audience. When he felt he could no longer relate nor properly convey the emotion behind the song, he stopped playing it.

The sad truth fans of EDM must face is that the genre as a whole is young, immature, and enamored by the superficial. For me, artists with the goal of enhancing their fans’ lives through their music are the ones I will continue to enjoy. The champagne-spraying, bottle-popping performances are undoubtedly fun, but it is equally certain we’ll look back on them as the necessary and unfortunate stupidity of youth, both our own and of our music. EDM is in dire need of a mature, meaningful message, and there is no reason that a young producer can't deliver it or that young fans can’t demand it.

The most interesting facet of EDM’s fan base is there are now two main types. First, there are the social seekers, more focused on taking a photo from behind the DJ or with their thousands of dollars in liquor and posting it on instagram than with listening to the music. For them, as long as the DJ on stage is sufficiently famous, they are happy to empty their wallets in an attempt to fill some hole within them that, they will soon discover, cannot be filled with money.

On the other hand, there are the devotees of the old rave culture more focused on being with their friends than with whoever is on stage. There is an undesirable element to this group as well in the form of those who will dance to DJ-fill-in-the-blank as long as they are on their preferred drug. For the most part, though, the sincerity of valuing the music and the message over the mainstream is alive and well. You just have to look for it.

At the highest level, the organizers of music festivals and EDM events are eagerly anticipating the day fans don’t need a famous performer as an excuse to have fun. Last summer, Insomniac’s Pasquale Rotella famously described how “ [the fan] is the headliner.” The unfortunate fact is, fans are not yet brave enough to let loose on their own, not the way they currently do when a well-known performer is on stage.

This is why the bubble cannot last. Soon, the fans will realize the emperor has no clothes. They will stop deluding themselves into buying the fame of an artist they haven’t even listened to just because a promoter is able to convince them he is a “big deal.” We are all lying to each other and ourselves, because the money involved has made us believe we have to. The time has come to put an end to the farce and hype we have created.

In many ways, a bubble is a perfect analogy. It expands uncontrollably until it bursts, despite being filled with nothing.

Some day, that space will be filled with meaning. Right now, it’s filled with Facebook likes, YouTube views and Twitter followers.

Kalbata and Mixmonster in Jamaica.

In 2011 Producers Kalbata and Mixmonster recorded a purely analog album, recorded live to tape using no computers reviving original Jamaican studio technics considered extinct in today's production world. A year later, they traveled to Jamaica to find the original artists who once ruled the dance hall, Together they created new tracks, combining the spirit of early dancehall with foreword thinking bass music.

This is their story.

Magit Cacoon session on Be-At TV

Magit Cacoon is a DJ and producer behind the label Girl Scout. She also released music on Upon.You Records and Be As one.

Magit Cacoon has been connected to electronic music since her early years in Tel Aviv, and since relocating to Berlin, has set herself apart with that rare combination of a performer’s charisma and a trained ear that can recognize what’s “next level” in the global electronic dance realm. After three years as resident at Sweat Lodge Radio , Magit's has now launched her own label Girl Scout and has teamed up with the Upon.You crew to release her productions. Outside the studio, she DJs regularly in Berlin and throughout Europe with an extremely fluid approach to mixing, weaving together different styles such as house, techno and soul music.

Magit Cacoon had developed quite a broad perspective on dance music, playing in the city’s most notorious clubs as well as in leading European venues, linking her up with some of the freshest DJs and producers around. In 2011, with a keen sense for the sounds that move our souls on the dancefloor, she realized the next natural step was to create a home for her own productions by founding a record label: Girl Scout was born. With a handful of releases so far and more to come, Girl Scout is the home for some of her tracks and remixes, as well as from friends such as P.Toile, Nunu, Astronivo, &Me, Nico Purman and Tigerskin.

Of course Magit also enjoys being part of a greater framework beyond Girl Scout, having previously released on Shlomi Aber's Be As One Label and Upon.You Records, remixed the UK band Porcupine Tree, working on future releases in Girl Scout and Upon.You Records. Meanwhile, she continues to perform worldwide, always refining her style and gaining inspiration along the way.

Steve Uzan was born in 11. 18. 1982 Pairs, France. He was captured by the sound since he was a little boy.

His parents were separate and in 1990 his mom decide to move to Israel. He started his Djing career when he was 18 years old and was invited to play at the hard and kicking after party line in Tel Aviv at the Deep club next to Itay Shlayer. later on Steve was played at the biggest clubs in town such as Zamir and the TLV.

2005 was the breakthrough in Steve career when he was performed at the Haixit club in Eilat next to Carl Cox and David Guetta, This was production of Jack Tropez with famous models and celebrities from France. By gaining experience in the Israeli club scene he was invited to play at the Barzilay club next to Vic, Ossy and Shlomi Aber.  Following the wave of demand in 2008 Steve played at the QUEEN club in Pairs next to Offer Nissim and Dan Marzziano.

Now days Steve working on his original materials, light beaming tracks, deep and dark notes mixture with spicy flavors of hypnotic sounds.

To stay informed and up to date on all going on In music field and future trands.
I'm keeping development my sound, these days i working hard by creating my own original materials, an sweeping hypnotic sound with lots of emotion - sounds that's reflect my character.
To get worldwide exposure and enter into the music industry in Berlin and London.
